​Alice Humphries

is a highly versatile composer working across and in-between the contemporary classical, jazz and experimental worlds.  Her music has been described as “bursting with life and fun, as well as great, great beauty” and “deeply thought-provoking…offering both moments of incredible intensity and sublime serenity.” Her output includes electro-acoustic, chamber, and orchestral music, as well as music for dance, documentary, and collaborative cross art form projects. Humphries’ music has been performed across Australia and internationally and she has received commissions from major artists and organisations. Alice completed her undergraduate studies at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts and has a PhD in composition from the University of Melbourne.

 is a musician based on Whadjuk Noongar boodja in Boorloo (Perth, Western Australia), making with techniques from the worlds of electro-acoustic music, radio art, free improvisation, field recording and experimental composition. He plays saxophone and electronic instruments, and occasionally works with clarinet and percussion. He is a part of Tone List, a Perth-based record label for exploratory music, and initiated their acclaimed annual Audible Edge festival in 2017, which he now co-curates with Annika Moses. He has performed solo and collaboratively in concert series and festivals across Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.

is an award winning Australian composer who specialises in collaborative media and concert works. She works primarily with orchestra and large ensembles of acoustic instruments (at times electronically manipulated and set alight with found sounds) and the human voice, exploiting its full spectrum of sound from speech to song. A Fulbright Scholar and recent graduate of the Manhattan School of Music New York, Smith earned her Masters of Music under the tutelage of Dr Marjorie Merryman, upon commencement winning the Nicolas Flagello Composition Award for most outstanding composer.

has been active as a composer and performer across Europe, the USA and Asia since 1986. His music includes works for acoustic and electronic instruments in interactive-electronic, improvised or fully notated settings, ranging from solo pieces to opera and has been commissioned by numerous groups for concert, dance and theatre. His work has been described as 'always intriguing' The Wire, 'truly an original voice and his work is one of sustained intensity that resonates in the mind long after the performance is over' and a 'master of technological wizardry' The Australian. He was a founding member of Alea New Music Ensemble, Magnetic Pig, SQUINT, HEDKIKR (2002-)  Decibel (2009-) and GreyWing (2016-). He received a Churchill Fellow and holds an MMus (UWA) and PhD (QUT).

Aaron Wyatt

Aaron Wyatt is a composer/arranger, conductor, string player, programmer and academic at The Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music at Monash University in Melbourne. Playing across a range of genres with many different ensembles, he was a long time, regular casual with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, and recently toured with them to China and Abu Dhabi. He has performed internationally with a number of other groups and productions, including the award winning fringe show City of Shadows by Rachael Dease. In 2015 Aaron developed the Decibel ScorePlayer app, an animated graphic notation software for the iPad. Aaron was recently nominated for a Helpmann Award for his musical direction of Cat Hope’s opera Speechless, presented as part of the 2019 Perth International Arts Festival.
